wishful thinking

yesterday, the taxi driver who took me to klia rumbled about how the price of goods & food has increased tremendeously over the years. for example, a specific brand of butter which he has always bought used to cost RM7++ but one shocking day, it suddenly cost RM12++. how come i didn't really notice or take notice that prices of goods & food have increased? but i do realize that with each passing year & with each salary increment, my nett salary minus all those expenses is almost the same. maybe my "kerak" is increasing as well? back to the taxi driver. he's also paying RM165 per day for the hire purchase of his taxi. i was deadly surprised! so, how does he manage to pay? he simply has to make many trips per day. min 4. max 6-7 but that would make him work until late night. his car, waja, can utilize natural gas as well. a ngv. however, i was told that newer versions of waja running on campro engine performs badly on gas. it jerks every once in a while. he claimed that other cars do not have the same problem. well, what else can I say about malaysian cars? after all, i'm also using waja now. i'm lucky that my engine is mitsubishi.

today, i was initially being the sole makmum for an imam during afternoon prayer. so, i stood a little bit behind him to his right. later, a distinguished gentleman came and stood on my right horizontally. actually, he's supposed to stand directly behind the imam & then, i was supposed to move back joining him in the newly formed line/rank/"saf". so, i was perplexed not knowing what to do, whether to move to the back like i normally do, leaving him at the front right or not. so, i did nothing but just followed the imam. that gentleman did the same thing as well. i should ask an ulama about this scenario.

i'd like to be an avid reader but i just could not be one. any advice? i think i've bought reasonably a lot of books but so far only managed to finish a few of them. i also would like to be a musician/songwriter. of course, just for fun & as a hobby. but, now, no new songs have come out of my head after the 12th or so song composed like 10 or 11 years ago. writing a novel? that looks even remotely possible. meaning nearly impossible. but anything can happen. hopefully, this boring blog of mine will serve as a starting point for me to let the creative part of me, if any, flow smoothly. and get it caressed so that it will blossom over time. just a wishful thinking of a nobody. (note: nobody is perfect)

in kl

what am i doing here???

yesterday:
it's d-day (di day). d-day for the sexual harassment case. it's a landmark case. the one that will set precedent over future cases if any. at 3, i'd to go already to catch my flight to kl in kuantan. went to kuantan by cab. then, took the flight to klia. from klia, hopped on a klia budget limo/taxi to crown plaza mutiara hotel. in the hotel room, did some office work & watched "Number 23" starring Jim Carrey until almost 2 am before finally passing out on the cosy, cold hotel bed.

today:
had complimentary bfast at the coffee house on the main lobby floor. then, went to the IBM Oil & Gas Event at the lower lobby floor. very technically challenging. maybe 70% of the contents are meant for oil & gas engineers. eyeing for the lucky draw prizes: 2 units of iPod Classic 80GB but others were luckier. but everybody got free 2GB usb thumbdrive anyway. it has IBM logo on it. the event finished at 4.30pm but since my flight to kuantan WILL BE at 10 pm tonight, i went to low yat plaza 1st to buy 8gb sd card & card reader for my asus eee pc 4g 701. had dinner there as well. the taxi (return ticket bought last night) to klia called me just now, waiting in front of low yat plaza. gotta make a move to withdraw some money & catch the taxi...

weekend in kt (balik kg)

my whole morning today was filled with resting, sleeping & watching supernatural on my asus eee pc 701. after noon, went to the overly-hyped & still-under-construction-but-has-been-officiated masjid kristal/taman tema islam (islam theme park) on pulau wan man, terengganu. looks like it has been stripped off of its title of being an island. it's so hot over there that we decided to properly visit the inside/surrounding of masjid kristal later in the evening. then, we hang around batu buruk beach while having fast/junk food "courtesy with cost" of kfc. around 5.30p, we went to masjid kristal again. it's not hot anymore there. so, we had our photo sessions there using my sony cyber-shot dsc-t10 & my wife's olympus mju 850sw digital cameras. people told me that there's a fee to go there but at the moment there's none. maybe in the future there will be. maybe they woud charge for the monuments only. who would charge to pray/solat in a masjid/mosque anyway? but anything can happen... for dinner, we had hot plate noodle. we've been having it since 2000, since our daughter was still a new born baby, and we still like it even though the preparation & taste are sometimes good & sometimes not. tonight it's not that good. most of the time, it is though. enough for today, wanna watch supernatural season 3 illegally downloaded from the internet. still haven't watched this week's latest bleach (if they've got any)...

today

the last place that i would go in KT to park my car is mydin mall parking lot during weekends & holidays. so many people are flocking there. today, i had to circle the lot for a few times before finally settling on an ok spot. faissol called me informing that he's getting married this sat. congrats! he invited me to join his group (rombongan) to go together to his bride-to-be's house. i can't think now coz too sleepy. i'm gonna go to sleep & let this wash all over me...

yesterday (again?)

yup! at last, yap did call me trying to lure me into his biz world of unit trust, as a member & not as an agent. he even offered to see me away at klia this afternoon/evening - my flight to kt was at 7:50pm. as for madet, he's so bz as a manager (?) that he couldnt make it for lunch. well, maybe next time. it's my last day of training. klia taxi which I had paid beforehand & booked came to fetch me at 5. after checking in, yap arrived. i expected him (really?) to wear a full suit with bush jacket & tie but i was deeply dismayed. so, the episode of cheap sale promotions started at a food court in klia [sorry yap... :)]. he's trying not so hard enuff to convince me that his unit trust is the best. i heard that the other unit trust is the best/no 1. well, i gave him required particulars & signed his forms anyway like signing blank checks. he promised he won't submit them until i'm convinced enough. at kt INTERNATIONAL airport, still under construction, my beloved wife fetched me & took me home (parents-in-law's). long time no see.

so which unit trust is the best? whichever is, (unit trusts or even okh,) the truth is: hardwork & persistence with a little bit or some wits & wisdom are still the best survival kits.

yesterdays

the day before yesterday
the 1st day of training went smoothly without any hiccup. bought some books at amcorp mall. that is it.

yesterday
2nd day of training at amcorp mall. lunch with yap & clement of autoscan there. we didn't talk much about work but instead about family & the current state of msian politics + other things. then, after 5, went to midvalley megamaniacmall to look for some things such as books & petty car accessories. my old buddy yap (not the 1st yap) fetched me up for dinner. madet, another old buddy, was supposed to join in but he had other important matters to attend to. barua madet! i haven't used barua for quite a long time. i used it in my sms to him. he knew it's just an old buddy's joke. bangang madet!!! :) i can say that yap doesn't change that much. in fact, not at all. we had dinner at a mamak restaurant in bangsar. the DAMNED food was so DAMN expensive!$%&*#@ hopefully, i can claim later. yap & his wife (dd which wasnt present) are so into part-time businesses. yap, r u trying to lure me into investing into your unit trust? u never mentioned it to me directly... anyway, good luck in your businesses. i've put your link down there. madet planned to have lunch with me today. with that kind of distance, not sure if he can make it. and what's with all those fund transfers & dissolutions? !@#$%^&*()_+?

hiatus

its been a while since the last entry. it's been 4 months since my last entry on radiohead. so many things have been happening. so many things have come & gone. that's life. some are good & some bad. that's life. life's like that. some things that u wished for didn't come true at all, or did come true in a twisted kind of way. we decided not to continue hiring kak jiah, or bibik as she is fondly known by our daughter. 3 new years have passed: Gregorian, Islamic & Chinese, in chronological order. our daughter is now 8 years old, and another 1 is hopefully on the way, now in the making, or to be precise, in the womb. just pray that my daughter will finally be rewarded with a little brother or sister. but the more the merrier. time flies like it's nobody's business. i've been married for 9 years to my beloved wife. and this year i'm gonna be 34 years old. will be an old man before others & u & i know it. election results have surprised everybody. the ruling party managed to retain my home state of terengganu but unexpectedly lost not 1, not 2, but 4 more states to the opposition: kedah, selangor, penang & perak. the opposition, pas, is still retaining the control of the state of kelantan. kelantan is still under the rule of tok guru. hail to your highness! daulat tuanku sultan terengganu, the present king of malaysia, for standing up for what is right & against what is wrong. bosses come & go. got a new boss for the state. got a new boss of boss at work. got tired of getting parked there & here & everywhere. dissatisfactions are unavoidable. ok, points taken. (before that, given.)
